A hilltop village in the North Luberon, Gordes impresses with its powerful foundation on the rock.

Its structure, both compact and delicate, is a joy to recreate for a painter.

Situated next to me, the viewer is separated from the village by a steep drop-off, barely visible because it is hidden by a profusion of plants and minerals.
